Fly beyond Cultural Boundaries using Wings of Facebook Emoticons

Facebook emoticons - Use of Facebook emoticons in our conversation is indeed an impressive way of communicating emotions. An emoticon, the word itself coined using two words emotion and icon, is that small naughty icon representing your emotions. Facebook emoticons were not being used in the initial days of online conversations and even there was no official list or information available about this. At a time when use of words was the only way people interacted, the natural urge of human minds to constantly search newer ways of expressing emotions prompted creation of an entire world of Facebook emoticons & thus, a way individuals can communicate sensibly, smartly.

Facebook emoticons - Use of Facebook emoticons is not just conveying of your emotions, feelings and expressions in a more intense and accurate way. It is actually much more than that. With the global nature of Internet, you need to interact with anybody across the globe. Sometimes the interaction may be formal, sometimes informal and at times very friendly and intimate. Language certainly has its own strength, but because language has direct or indirect meaning associated to it, it has its own shortcomings too. There are always some cultural, social and ideological references attached to the words which go beyond the literal meaning found in dictionaries worldwide. Facebook emoticons help you to convey what exactly you mean so that there is no ambiguity or misunderstanding between you and the other person.

Facebook emoticons - These colourful smileys can save you in situations where things are not taken in the same spirit as it is intended to. One simple statement in one language may contain very harsh and irritating meaning in other country, as in case of satire and sarcasm which is very common in some countries. Recipients of the same culture may take it in its exact spirit, while for others it may be very offensive. Use Facebook emoticons and forget all such worries because this is a language that has symbols with a human instinct & thus, a global meaning. Attach Facebook emoticons with your comments, posts, remarks, messages or emails & see how other person takes in the exact way you want him or her to. This is the power of Facebook emoticons.

There is one more aspect with Facebook emoticons.  A simple statement can be interpreted differently if it is followed by a different Facebook emoticon. ‘This action is stupid!’ can be interpreted differently if followed by a smiley to remove harshness out of it, but followed by a ‘frown’ adds pinch of seriousness, and kidding with a ‘wink”.

So attach wings of Facebook emoticons to fly over cultural boundaries & take on the world as your interaction platform.
